Hope Place is a non-governmental organization (NGO) which aims to help and contribute towards the local community to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to receive the equal quality of life. We love to see that the underprivileged people of Kuching be given a chance to come out from poverty. At Hope Place, we want to challenge ourselves to be the beacon for the defenseless, and to create awareness that it is a shared responsibility of the community of Kuching to show concern and to take care of one another.

Mina is actively involved in activities related to youth and children development as well as Bumiputera work in Sarawak. This led her to join the team as volunteer since the establishment in 2013. She is currently the Treasurer and part of the management team. She is also looking after Finance and Human Resource Department.
Mina is a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration. She has more than 9 years of working experience in finance and administration field. She is happily married with 3 kids.“I am glad to be part of the team because I believe a simple act of kindness can give tremendous impact in a person’s life”
Heidi joined the team since 2013. She has been actively involved in the daily operations of Hope Place. Her 10 years of experience in the corporate world in administration and events has become a great addition to the team and has surely enrich Hope Place since the establishment. A believer of servanthood and teamwork, Heidi is currently overlooking the whole daily operations, making sure the team is in performs optimally. She is a graduate with a Master Degree in Science (Corporate Communication).
Kelvin has more than 6 years of experience engaging in NGO as a volunteer and working among the needy. His passion is to see those who are oppressed are being given the same quality of life and a second chance for a better future. With over 20 years in sales and marketing, Kelvin is the Head of Development Department, mostly involved in soliciting donors and doing Public Relations in Hope Place. He is one of the members in the management team and also a committee member in the committee board of Hope Place.
Ms. Chong has a desire to influence the community with the spirit of giving and caring. With her passion and enthusiasm, she has helped to establish Hope Place back in 2013 together with our founder, Mr. Kelvin Wan. She is currently the President and is part of the management team of Hope Place, actively involved in key decision making for the organisation.
Ms Chong graduated from Monash University (Melbourne) in the Bachelor of Business (Management). She worked in the banking industry for 16 years before joining an international NGO as a Senior Manager. She is a volunteer to Hope Place.
We believe that volunteering creates skill development and is often intended to promote goodness or to improve human quality of life. Volunteering may have positive benefits for the volunteer as well as for the person or community served.
